Coverage Options
Here is every piece a car policy can hold, taken one at a time, so you can build the mix that suits your car and your miles.
The basics
The Pieces I Start Building With
Liability Insurance
This is the part that pays the other driver when the wreck was your doing, covering their repairs and their hospital bills. Your state sets a minimum, and I will tell you that the minimum is usually too low, so I want you looking hard at that number before you settle on it.
Collision Insurance
This one fixes your car after you hit something, and it does not care whether that something was another vehicle, a mailbox, a wall or a parking garage pillar. Pick your deductible with me, because it moves your monthly bill and your out of pocket hit.
Comprehensive Insurance
Everything that wrecks a car while nobody is driving it falls here. Think hail dents, a branch through the roof in a storm, a stolen vehicle, an engine fire or a cracked windshield, and it matters most when you park outside.
Uninsured Motorists
Plenty of people on the road out there carry nothing at all, or carry so little it may as well be nothing. This picks up your bills when one of them hits you, and without it that whole cost quietly becomes yours alone to pay.
Medical Payments
If you or anyone riding with you gets hurt, this helps with the treatment right away, no argument about blame first. It usually pays out well ahead of any liability settlement, which matters when hospital invoices start landing.
Worth adding
Extras I Often Suggest Adding
Roadside Assistance
A tow truck, a jump start, a spare tire fitted, or someone to open the door when your keys are locked inside. Costs little, and you will bless it on a dark empty road.
Rental Reimbursement
Puts a loaner in your driveway while the shop has your car apart. Worth every penny if your whole household runs on just the one vehicle.
Gap Protection
Say the car is totaled and you still owe the bank more than it was worth, this pays that difference. Ask me about it whenever a loan is attached.
Glass Repair
Chips and cracks in the windshield get handled, often with no deductible at all. Tiny clause, and a huge relief if you drive gravel roads regularly.
Not Certain Which Of These You Actually Need?
Tell me the car, the miles you drive and the money you have, and I will shape something that fits you.

How I compare
I Read The Fine Print
Shopping on price alone is the trap almost everyone falls into. Two quotes can read the same at a glance, yet one of them quits on you midway through a big claim. I stack the limits, the deductibles and the exclusions in one column each, and the real difference shows up.
- I show you what each limit really buys
- I weigh deductibles against monthly cost
- I flag every exclusion before you sign
